Why we are here: I messed up while preparing the website for the move to the new address. I backed up, applied some updates to Word Press and some plugins, updated the security settings to better protect our site and then backed up again.

I tried to stub the new website in on the site but it complained since there was another Mana Drain already hosted on my domain. I had to disconnect the old Mana Drain and put it into Read Only. Everything looked good so I thought, “Hey, looks like I just import the backup and we will be good to go…” Well, no. Blammo, Errors everywhere and then the security warnings started. “XXXXX.png has errors and will not be imported.” By the time the import finished, my host was warning that the original site wasn’t safe. Which would mean agreeing to security exceptions every time you visited. I tried downloading the files, giving them all a scan with my security software which found errors and threats. I tried restoring from backup but it too was riddled with the same problems. All I could do was delete all of those resources.

I apologize for the mess I made. But hey! We’ve got a fresh start here and everything (but me) is more safe and anonymous.

Professor and I are busy trying to get the systems up and going. A big special thank you for taking time out of a teaching day to help!

A few notes: Looks like the Card of the Week widget that I made will be no longer. I will keep an eye out for a new widget for that. And I will attempt to restore or provide new images in the old posts.
